Play readings

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak, play readings have been taking place by Zoom meeting, currently on the second Thursday of each month.  Look for details on our Play Readings page, or email playreadings@LGDramaClub.com to find out more.

Play readings in pre-pandemic times

In the old days play reading generally took place monthly in the Village Hall Committee Room.  But because of the popularity of holding them by Zoom during the pandemic, we’re carrying on like that for now at least.

radio play

WIXIT!‘ by Trisha Wood, performed by members of Little Gaddesden Drama Club

WIXIT! is the sixth play in the Extraordinary Women series of short radio plays written by Trisha Wood. In it the ladies of Great Titley Women’s Institute (WI) bow to pressure from one of their members and decide to hold a referendum on whether to leave the National organisation. To the committee’s surprise there is a yes vote (52-48%) which leaves them with some uncomfortable choices.

For those of you who are not familiar with the earlier plays, you can find them here and for a little more information on the formidable characters that make up the committee of this local WI click here.
